I found a local company that will create print and deliver 10,000 door hangers for only $300 bucks. This is a great deal right? THis would be my first time sending out anything like this.

Door hangers for insurance just don't work in most areas. They do better for pizza delivery.

Personally, if you want to try this method, just leave your biz card on the door.

When I first started selling insurance I put out thousands of door hangers because the company provided them for free, and I put them out myself whenever I didn't have appointments or ran out of leads to follow up o. So the cost was $0. Unfortunately, so was the return on investment. The response rate on these things is so low that even at a cost of only $300 you probably won't even make your money back. Assuming you make roughly 10% on your home/renters policies, that would mean a lot of home policies depending on what the rates are like where you are. And no matter where you are located it would mean you would have write a whole lot of renters policies to break even.

To be absolutely honest, as bad as internet leads are, you'd be much better off putting that $300 in to them than door hangers.
