How to Warm Soft Cheese

How to Warm Soft Cheese

Posted:

Warming soft cheeses such as Brie and Camembert is sometimes necessary when you've kept the cheese in the fridge up to serving time. Soft cheese should be served at room temperature; if it is taken straight from the fridge to be consumed at the table, the cheese will usually be too firm and won't have its full flavor. The ideal soft cheese serving state should be a soft, runny center. Here is the way to quick-fix your refrigerated soft cheese in time for serving.

Steps

  1. Remove from the fridge. Unwrap the cheese.
  2. Place on a microwaveable dish.
  3. Microwave briefly. By way of example, a 4.4 oz/ 125 g piece of cheese should be heated on High (70% power) for 30–45 seconds, on average. The cheese should be slightly warmed right through.
  4. Remove from the microwave. Leave to stand for 5 minutes prior to serving.
  5. Remember to remove the cheese well in advance of eating them next time. Soft cheese should be given ample time to warm up to room temperature simply by sitting out.

Things You'll Need
