How to Handle In-Flight Fiascos

Right now, whether across the city or across the ocean, terrorists are plotting to advance their cause. Blowing things up might not seem like a reasonable or effective means for getting what they want, but it is a tactic that makes terrorists difficult to ignore.

Perhaps that's why big planes carrying lots of Americans make such appealing targets for terrorists. Just ask the travelers aboard Northwest Flight 253. On Christmas Day they watched as flames erupted up from a window seat midway down the plane's left side. Their lives were at stake and the plane was under attack.

Ivana Trump, onetime wife Donald Trump, reacted as though her life were at stake when she had to be escorted off a plane in Palm Beach, Fla., on Dec. 26, after yelling obscenities at her would-be tormentors. The children running and screaming through the aisles did not pose an actual threat to her life, but perhaps their antics reminded her too much of her former mate for her to bear.
